49 Highlight Hockey is a standalone hockey game that also pairs perfectly with 49 Quick Decks Hockey in that you can switch seamlessly between the two in a minutes time. Think of 49 Highlight Hockey as a 10 minute recap of the highlights of a game. My goal was to make the game similar to watching a highlight video of an NHL game on YouTube. 

49 Highlight Hockey uses the core engine from 49 Quick Decks hockey and distills a game down to 4-7 highlights in a period. Play is resolved similar to Quick Decks in that you resolve action that likely leads to a shot on net, which also is resolved the same way with the shooter and goalie each rolling a die. I can set up and play four Highlight Hockey games in an hour (using Team Charts). I expect after you’ve played a couple of games, and depending on the detail of stats you like to keep, playing a game in ~15 minutes is realistic.
